Hi, we are aware of the terrible experience players are facing on the Alpha combat. We've disabled the combat on the current version of the game. Combat is not the main core of the gameplay, it is made to complement the actual game. We hope to improve it in the future before adding it back again.
The game is made with Unreal Engine so it's possible to publish Linux Version. None of the team own Linux however thus we can't support Linux Version beyond packaging.
im having trouble downloading it and playing it. it crashes in the beginning screen. what kind of winzip do i need? why doesnt the one i got open it. im confused
Good game but. The game breaks when i try to do parttime in the nurse office. Im sure it breaks with any part time. I tried the nurse office 3 times and all my options are gone. I cant move, or rotate the screen. And there isnt anything else that happens. The characters are still standing there. There just isnt any options after you press part time. Thats when all options disappear and you cant move, but the game still runs.
Hi, that must have been a bug, we will look into it. There is no part time work intended for the nurse office at this moment. The only part time work exist in latest build (patreon version) at the fast food chain.

Holy Crap! I was expecting a typical VN but what I got was so much more. Only on day two atm, and already loving this. The animation is great, the futuristic designs and layout of the ark is awesome and really enjoying the RPG feel this give off.

**EDIT** Just finished the prologue, and while the gameplay was definitely enjoyable, was honestly a little disappointed in the absolute lack of H-Scenes, or the ability to have any meaningful dialogue with any of the wandering characters.
Also slightly confused as to why the combat scenes were done with Risa instead of my own avatar.
Other than that, it was definitely fun, albeit very early stage and short.
Hey Bluhdwulf, thank you for the optimistic feeedback. There are couple of things that we want to address with the lack of H-scene.
1. H-Scenes are unlocked on particular H-Roid when their heart level reach certain level. The higher the heart level, the more echi things player can do. We want players to climb the rope to enjoy the view instead bombarding them with an instant H-Activity with little effort.
What you see in the prologue is just a demonstration to the players that H-Scene exist within the realm of our game.
Each H-Roid have a different requirement to be unlocked. But for most, they can be unlock by completing the H-roid story/quest line. This give us time to work on the story for each H-roid, finding VA and preparing their models for customisation. Meaningful dialogue and story quest to deepen the bound with the wandering H-roid will open when they are unlocked =).
The game is all about building bound with different type of characters and personality =)
Unfortunately we are at the stage where we just begun, so only Risa is unlocked. We just had a voting pool on patreon for the next character unlock, so expect another character to interact with on the next build.
2. Originally we use the avatar for combat as well, but we decide to follow the footstep of other anime combat game where the player is the captain commanding a group of girls. This way the player can switch characters in combat with all of the H-roid they unlocked.
Please note combat is a small part of the big picture. We actually took out the combat on the current build because it needed more work. As a small team with limited funding we are still miles away from our goal but please do check us back every now and then for updates =) or join discord to see weekly update.
I naturally assumed you'd need to build a rapport with the H-roids in order to acess the ecchi scenes, but I'm guessing that the option to do that with Risa is pretty limited due to the early stage of the game. After I completed the prologue, I tried talking with Risa and could only talk with her once before the talk option was greyed out, nor could I find any shops that sold gifts (Assuming they have not been implemented yet) I tried sleeping to pass the day, and it would not let me. (Gave the dialouge "I'm not ready to sleep yet" or something like that) Without being able to improve relation with her, I just decided to do the firework scene and end the game.
Aside from that issue, I really did enjoy the game and look forward to the next release.
Oh, BTW I noticed that once you tell an H-Roid follow you, you cannot make them stop. They blocked me in the elevator a few times, and I had to reload the game. Just thought I'd bring it to your attention. An option to make them stop following you might be a good idea.

Looks interesting and I am impressed by the short video trailer. Though I have no idea what the story is about. While some people may not care about the story, I would very much like there to be some sort of description of what this game is even about.
you give no description whatsoever about the story of the game it should be at the top so people know if they even want to play. I guarantee you will get a lot more downloads with a description
i seem to encounter a bug at the spaceship docking area and went out of bounds and fell out the map and also the movements for the combat are very awkward
Could you post the exact area where you fell? We know the combat is in a very early stage thus we disabled the combat on the next version till we can spend time improving it.

dam, it's easy for me to see the controls are shit, but hard to pinpoint why it's shit, but I think my main problem is the Camera, perhaps a button to focus on the enemies
No worries, thanks for the feedback. You can use middle mouse button to focus on the enemy (Sorry for not explaining it properly) but regardless the control do need a lot of work hence we removed combat on the next version until we can work on it.

Not in the prologue, the gifts are only for test purposes.
We will have update for Patreon build very soon which features Arcade games where you can get gifts from winning the claw machines. Each H-roid have different preferences when it comes to gifts so look forward for many more items in the upcoming updates.
From what I've played I can see the inspiration from Nier: Automata and I like it, however there needs to be a way to change settings from in-game and the camera angles don't allow me to look up skirts :(
In-game settings are planned 2 version away from the Patreon release. Crouch function have been added but not published, this way you can look up at the H-roid skirts =) (and take picture X_X). Do it discreetly tho, or you will get slapped.
Heaps and I don't want to spill everything but Arcade is just around the corner (You can play with claw machine to get gifts for the H-roid). Cinema, Aquarium, Concerts, Amusement park, etc.
Hi all the updates are bug fixes for the Prologue (Demo/Introductory). Version 4 is the Final Update for the Prologue. We are currently working for the Patreon Build where backers (as low as $3 USD) can have access to latest version of the game.

Great game but i have a couple issues 1. There is no Setting (That i saw) that allowed for audio change.
2. When in game and i hit esc i just get a prompt to close the game and i think it would be nice to have a pause menu there, with settings like audio, graphics, sensitivity, etc.
3. I think an implementation of a map in game would be a nice QOL change. Otherwise so far a great game :)

Thank you MrMaradok, One way I find to increase FPS significantly is to play the game on a lower resolution. I get about 100 FPS boost going from 1440 p to 720 p. We are working on optimization progressively but since we want to add more characters and places on the map, I'm afraid changing the resolution will be the only thing that you can do.
Hey, do you get the error when extracting or when running the .exe? That sound strange because all sound file should be converted as .uassets. Could you please post a screen shoot here or in our discord?
Hi, we are aware of people having different DPI setting. You can change the camera sensitivity at main menu inside the setting section. All of the settings and more can be adjusted inside the game in the near future, but for now you can only change the camera sensitivity settings at the main menu.

there is a finalize button on the bottom right, however if you are running 16:10 monitor it gets clipped. The patch to fix this will be live in a few hours, are you able to play it in 16:9 ratio for now?
problems I've faced: Running 16:9/16:10 1680x1050 and UI is not matching
some times in dialogue the game can freeze, everything around is moving but can't proceed with dialogue
when talking to NPC momoiro? momo---whatever, there is option to "date" her ( and from what I tested, she's the only one , but could've missed some, and the moment you press either baseball or study the dialogue freezes
The signs that meant to show the way are incorrect
the dodge is somewhat unresponsive, was holding S and D to dodge, but the character proceeded dodging forward
during combat some NPC started walking in air, and shortly after dropping down (*pretty bad assassins if you ask me*)
not sure if that was end of demo or bug: at 19:00 you can't go to sleep, and after redeeming the firework tickets, can't do it again, so the game got stuck at 19:00(Night), couldn't play basketball,attend classes or gym etc ( says " im not ready to go the sleep yet " or something like that )

TheArkGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor - in GameUserSettings.ini I changed postprocessing to 0, but the game still had bloom, not really big fan of bloom
16:10 ratio fix will be completed in a few hours time. Could you please provide time stamp and place where the game freeze and you are not able to proceed? There is a bug involving Momoiro when a player ask her for a date. The option meant to be greyed out as we are still working on dating system to make it an enjoyable and fun experience. This problem have been addressed and will be pushed on the next build along with the 16:10 ratio problem.
The signs have been fixed too but it won't be pushed on the next build as we are adding more secret location for the map. The fix for the sign will take place at the end of this week, thank you for pointing it out.
Combat is still in a very alpha stage, we have considered to not include the combat for the Alpha but since it's one way to make an interactive game loop we decide to present the Combat as it is. Re-working the combat is part of the road map and will be done in the Third Phase of major update.
When you have finished the prologue you can do an activity at the Gym however Kunoe is only around in the afternoon. Firework ticket is a redeemable item, once redeem the player will not be able to attend to the same event without possessing another ticket. The demo officially ends with the firework but player may still comeback to the game to explore the world.
Graphic option is part of our road map. More settings option will be added in the future and you will be able to access it inside the game. We are aware of people being lost due to vague navigation. World map and Goal Finding system is part of our future plan, we hope to address the issue in the near future.

it was 19:00, I couldn't do any activity like baseball, and when I tried to go to dormitorium to go to sleep I got error saying something something " I'm not ready to go to sleep yet "
and if talking about dialogue, it was random, it froze twice when trying to redeem ticket, 7:00 ( straight after combat mission ) once was when talking to ( don't remember name ) ( the one that invites to play baseball ) but don't remember the time
this is what I did: at 7AM went to play baseball then went to do gym activity ( got message about " what colour I am today " ( or something like that ) ( chose red ), someone run to me, and said something about cookies/sweets got another message about the baseball, and what's with that AI!?! never missed, and at the last 2 balls it got perfect, I know it's AI but give her some sort of brakes then it was 19:00, went to dormitory and when I wanted to go to sleep i got error " I'm not ready to go to sleep yey "
Hi Gaz2210, sleeping gets disabled at the end of the game. You can re-load the game to do different activities or explore the level some more but what you experience is the end of the Prologue.
The AI can miss but she's just good at it :). Game variation and difficulty will be added later on. Risa is one of the best baseball player in the Ark so naturally it will not be soo easy to beat her.
There are a lot of signs that point to the wrong areas. Like the sign says gym that way, but it leads to the library, and multiple rooms labelled Gym did make it a bit harder to find the correct one
Unfortunately due to size and graphic constraint, mobile devices will have a hard time running the game. It will require the entire project to be re-made in low poly with reduce bones for every single character. To put it simply, there is no plan for platform outside Windows.
hmm I don't know about the other. When I runned the game , the screen resolution of the game is too big in my screen for some reasons. Can you look after this?
Hi gavuabeacon112, there are a number of reports concerning screen resolution. May I know your native monitor resolution as well as your current resolution when running the game? Sorry that you are experiencing this issue, I've record a possible fix on our discord but I need to figure out the problem on your end. If you can post a screen shoot of the issue in our discord, that do help us big time =)
I can second this problem. I run 1600x900 normally. Have tried windowed and all the resizing options. It seemed to only resize the UE4 window but not the actual game.
Noted, we can confirm that the UI breaks apart in 16:10 ratio monitor. I have added support for 1440x900 and currently looking at other problematic resolution for the next build. We will publish the build at the end of this week together with other bug fixes. Really sorry that you are experiencing this issue.
Is it possible to play the game in 1440p or 1080p on your end for now?
Gonna be honest with you here. I like the concept, but I think you should change the combat. Games like this have very clunky and buggy combat when it is hack n slash and it gets very boring and drawn out quickly. You would do much better if you revamp the combat to have turn based combat with selective skills and you can put decent resources into it instead of it feeling like a clunky chore.
We too agree that the combat is currently feeling clunky as we're still in early development and improvements will be adhered to down the line, thank you!
I feel like games like this just feel better are more smooth if they are turn based, less lag issues, less bug issues, gameplay flows smoother and you can add better memory resources to other things compared to what hack n slash gives. BUt I have an eye on this game and hope to see it improve.
I think the combat could be polished up could go either souls-like or Devil May Cry combo system, or maybe something like Dynasty warriors. No need to go turn based

Turn based is by far way more fun than Devil may cry hack n slash with skills. Thats why FF16 is gonna be a failure of a game cause they wanted to do that instead of what actually works, there is a reason why the only game that does devil may cry combat is devil may cry. And no offense to the developer but that combat is difficult to do without mo-cap, it is easier on the developer to do turn based as well.
FF 16 is being made by the guys that made FF14 into one of the best MMOs out there, I doubt it will fail. If people did not find DMC fun it wouldn't sell. Most adult indie turn based rpgs are dull and boring in the combat, just like a lot of 3d adult games. As long as the devs put in the time and effort to make the combat as good and enjoyable as the adult scenes it will be a great game.
You make a very valid point and I agree it's easier and perhaps nicer to re-create turn based combat for a small studio/indie group.
On personal level, I don't think mo-cap is required to deliver amazing animation. I believe amazing animator can achieve great realistic result with traditional bone keyframing method.
We are trying to allocate funds to find great animator and programmer to make the battle an enjoyable experience. At the end of the day, we will have to work out our resources and do our best. From there we will see what works and what not.

so i fell here and went into the abyss and was unable to do anything so i had to restart it is in the HQ's hangar

Nice, what kind of other overworld interactions do you have planned? I saw a Pool, a Batting Ring and a few other places I couldn't access yet.

Yes, its sandbox (you choose where you want to go and what you want to do) and we add new level every month.
the sensitivity of the looking around with the mouse is to fast needs to be slowed down
Unfortunately there is no in-game setting yet and we are aware of the problem.
For now you can change the camera sensitivity at the main menu option.

During the caffe one, I can't seem to get the door to open.
Caffe opens once you get a quest to eat lunch there. From there on the Caffe should open at all times.
when doing the first mission when starting the game it just puts me back into the hangar after I travel to the mission area

how do I leave cc when I am done with the character.
there is a finalize button on the bottom right, however if you are running 16:10 monitor it gets clipped. The patch to fix this will be live in a few hours, are you able to play it in 16:9 ratio for now?

problems I've faced:
Running 16:9/16:10 1680x1050 and UI is not matching
some times in dialogue the game can freeze, everything around is moving but can't proceed with dialogue
when talking to NPC momoiro? momo---whatever, there is option to "date" her ( and from what I tested, she's the only one , but could've missed some, and the moment you press either baseball or study the dialogue freezes
The signs that meant to show the way are incorrect
the dodge is somewhat unresponsive, was holding S and D to dodge, but the character proceeded dodging forward
during combat some NPC started walking in air, and shortly after dropping down (*pretty bad assassins if you ask me*)
not sure if that was end of demo or bug: at 19:00 you can't go to sleep, and after redeeming the firework tickets, can't do it again, so the game got stuck at 19:00(Night), couldn't play basketball,attend classes or gym etc ( says " im not ready to go the sleep yet " or something like that )

TheArkGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor - in GameUserSettings.ini I changed postprocessing to 0, but the game still had bloom, not really big fan of bloom

There is a bug involving Momoiro when a player ask her for a date. The option meant to be greyed out as we are still working on dating system to make it an enjoyable and fun experience. This problem have been addressed and will be pushed on the next build along with the 16:10 ratio problem.
The signs have been fixed too but it won't be pushed on the next build as we are adding more secret location for the map. The fix for the sign will take place at the end of this week, thank you for pointing it out.
Combat is still in a very alpha stage, we have considered to not include the combat for the Alpha but since it's one way to make an interactive game loop we decide to present the Combat as it is. Re-working the combat is part of the road map and will be done in the Third Phase of major update.
When you have finished the prologue you can do an activity at the Gym however Kunoe is only around in the afternoon. Firework ticket is a redeemable item, once redeem the player will not be able to attend to the same event without possessing another ticket. The demo officially ends with the firework but player may still comeback to the game to explore the world.
Graphic option is part of our road map. More settings option will be added in the future and you will be able to access it inside the game. We are aware of people being lost due to vague navigation. World map and Goal Finding system is part of our future plan, we hope to address the issue in the near future.

it was 19:00, I couldn't do any activity like baseball, and when I tried to go to dormitorium to go to sleep I got error saying something something " I'm not ready to go to sleep yet "
and if talking about dialogue, it was random, it froze twice when trying to redeem ticket, 7:00 ( straight after combat mission )
once was when talking to ( don't remember name ) ( the one that invites to play baseball ) but don't remember the time

You should be able to sleep at 19:00, is there anything that comes in mind to recreate this incident?this is what I did:
at 7AM went to play baseball
then went to do gym activity
( got message about " what colour I am today " ( or something like that ) ( chose red ), someone run to me, and said something about cookies/sweets
got another message about the baseball, and what's with that AI!?! never missed, and at the last 2 balls it got perfect, I know it's AI but give her some sort of brakes

Hi Gaz2210, sleeping gets disabled at the end of the game. You can re-load the game to do different activities or explore the level some more but what you experience is the end of the Prologue.
The AI can miss but she's just good at it :). Game variation and difficulty will be added later on. Risa is one of the best baseball player in the Ark so naturally it will not be soo easy to beat her.
There are a lot of signs that point to the wrong areas. Like the sign says gym that way, but it leads to the library, and multiple rooms labelled Gym did make it a bit harder to find the correct one

Do u have any future plans to make this game to be playable in android coz I dont have a laptop or pc
Unfortunately due to size and graphic constraint, mobile devices will have a hard time running the game. It will require the entire project to be re-made in low poly with reduce bones for every single character. To put it simply, there is no plan for platform outside Windows.
We hope you can try the game in the future =).
hmm I don't know about the other. When I runned the game , the screen resolution of the game is too big in my screen for some reasons. Can you look after this?
Hi gavuabeacon112, there are a number of reports concerning screen resolution. May I know your native monitor resolution as well as your current resolution when running the game? Sorry that you are experiencing this issue, I've record a possible fix on our discord but I need to figure out the problem on your end. If you can post a screen shoot of the issue in our discord, that do help us big time =)
I can second this problem. I run 1600x900 normally. Have tried windowed and all the resizing options. It seemed to only resize the UE4 window but not the actual game.
Noted, we can confirm that the UI breaks apart in 16:10 ratio monitor. I have added support for 1440x900 and currently looking at other problematic resolution for the next build. We will publish the build at the end of this week together with other bug fixes. Really sorry that you are experiencing this issue.

Gonna be honest with you here. I like the concept, but I think you should change the combat. Games like this have very clunky and buggy combat when it is hack n slash and it gets very boring and drawn out quickly. You would do much better if you revamp the combat to have turn based combat with selective skills and you can put decent resources into it instead of it feeling like a clunky chore.

I feel like games like this just feel better are more smooth if they are turn based, less lag issues, less bug issues, gameplay flows smoother and you can add better memory resources to other things compared to what hack n slash gives. BUt I have an eye on this game and hope to see it improve.
I think the combat could be polished up could go either souls-like or Devil May Cry combo system, or maybe something like Dynasty warriors. No need to go turn based

Turn based is by far way more fun than Devil may cry hack n slash with skills. Thats why FF16 is gonna be a failure of a game cause they wanted to do that instead of what actually works, there is a reason why the only game that does devil may cry combat is devil may cry. And no offense to the developer but that combat is difficult to do without mo-cap, it is easier on the developer to do turn based as well.
FF 16 is being made by the guys that made FF14 into one of the best MMOs out there, I doubt it will fail. If people did not find DMC fun it wouldn't sell. Most adult indie turn based rpgs are dull and boring in the combat, just like a lot of 3d adult games. As long as the devs put in the time and effort to make the combat as good and enjoyable as the adult scenes it will be a great game.
You make a very valid point and I agree it's easier and perhaps nicer to re-create turn based combat for a small studio/indie group.
On personal level, I don't think mo-cap is required to deliver amazing animation. I believe amazing animator can achieve great realistic result with traditional bone keyframing method.
We are trying to allocate funds to find great animator and programmer to make the battle an enjoyable experience. At the end of the day, we will have to work out our resources and do our best. From there we will see what works and what not.
